introduction

One of Pro Action’s main aims is to tackle the increasingly detrimental Contract terms from clients. The group intends to educate and demonstrate to the commissioning sector the way their contracts may damage their supply base by eroding illustration as a viable profession and therefore damaging the sectors own best interests over the medium to long term.
To this end we are writing to companies who present inequitable contracts (such as copyright assignments) to illustrators, addressing our letters to the relevant parties, which may include the managing director or chief executive, the main art director and the legal department.
To extend awareness of our campaigning all Pro-Action letters to commissioners are copied to the Design and Artists Copyright Society, Creators Rights Alliance and the British Copyright Council.

Cases are available to view by AOI members and Society of Artist Agents illustrators. Information on AOI membership here. Society of Artist Agents site here.
