The Pro-Action committee was established in 2006 by the Association of Illustrators and the Society of Artists Agents to deal with the problems facing illustrators in todays market place. These include fee erosion, copyright grabs and the issuing of retrospective contracts from commissioners.
Pro-Action has challenged various companies on their contract practice. These include The Guardian, Future Publishing (Computer Arts) and Cambridge University Press. The latest company we have approached is Pearson Education Limited over their copyright assignment contract. These cases can be viewed by AOI members and SAA member illustrators, and cover the companys response and Pro-Actions recommendations for illustrators. Please contact your respective organisation if you have forgotten your passwords for viewing Cases.
